Ras Abu Soma is a coral tongue and former Emperor Divers house reef where luck has to be on your side. You can see many different species such as the leopard shark, hammerheads, barracudas, snappers and manta rays in March and April. When unlucky you will still see many reef fish such as cornetfish and some excellent coral, but without the bigger pelagic. Turtles, dolphins and eagle rays have been seen as well.
This dive is often done as a drift dive, starting in the north near Safaga Bay and drifting southwards along a very nice and steep wall. There is a small cave that enters the coral reef for some meters and the wall can go to 80 meters of depth, so well beyond the diving limits.
