In the middle of the Red Sea are some islands, that are all rated as Marine Park Islands and only reachable for scuba diving on liveaboards. These islands such as Big Brother, Little Brother, Rocky Island and Zabargad are often the only shallow parts for miles and therefore attract big numbers of fish. On top of that, big currents give rise to high plank tonic waters that in its turn give rise to even more big fish. Last, because they are rated as Marine Parks, fishing is controlled as well as the number of divers that visit this area. What you get is an unspoiled diving location full of small and big aquatic life and stunning coral formations.
Water temperatures range between 22 and 27 degrees and islands always have nice cool breezes. Nights can get cold, also in summer, so bring something warm at all times. Seas can get rough, currents can be strong and it can be impossible for boats to find a save anchorage. But once there it is definitely the best place in Egypt to go diving.
