There is a smaller part of reef located near the northwest tip of Sha'ab Abu Nuhas main reef. It is named woodvalley reef because of the amount of wood that lies here. The sea’s current transported the wood when the Giannis sank in 1983 with its cargo full of wood. The valley that is created between these two reefs is used for boats to transport divers to and from the Giannis. Be careful when diving here and surfacing should always be done near the reef and with care. It is a not well known dive site but it is quiet and has some spectacular coral formations at the north side and reef boulders at the less impressive south side. When the current is right, it is also possible to combine this dive site with the Giannis in one 'quite long' dive.
