The Kormoran was a small German cargo vessel build in 1963. She was renamed to Adamastos in 1976 and again to Zingara in 1980. She is about 80 meters long and 12 meters wide, lying at its side in water of not more than 15 meters deep. It struck Laguna Reef in August 1984 when she was transporting phosphate rocks from Jordan. She broke in two quite quickly and was declared a constructive loss.

Many parts are still in perfect shape and easy to recognize. You can see the diesel engines, two very large brass portholes and many steel plates are covering the seabed. The letters KORMOR can still be found at the wreck, while the letters A and N are covered behind coral.

The dive site is also suitable for snorkelers although not great. It is not often visited by local diving boats, because they are more willing to take the best known dive sites in the Straits of Tiran. You can see turtles, sharks, reeffish, pelagic and great coral formations. Especially the bow and stern section are great for photographers.
