Middle Reef or Hal Hal is a large circular shaped reef and famous for its very healthy and colorful coral gardens and not for its steep walls as neighboring sites. The east side of the reef is best with many brain coral formations, some small and shallow ergs and sandy gullies. There are huge mushroom corals, caves and swim troughs especially in the south. Drift diving is often done from the north drifting next to this wall southwards. The reef is full with the common reef fish and hard corals and soft coral coverage is great.
