Banana Reef is a shallow and small y or banana shaped reef which lies in the middle of the Giftun Strait. Banana Reef is often also referred to as Dragonfly Reef, Gota Torfa El Shait or Sha'ab Farasha. Here, you can see about all species available in this part of the Red Sea. Diving here is often done as a drift dive starting at one of the two mooring points at either side of the reef. In the northwest is a spectacular pinnacle covered in soft corals while the northeast has some caves full of glassfish. Eagle rays, turtles, angelfish, bannerfish, nudibranches, puffers, gorgonians and unicorns are often seen.
