Sha'ab Samadai or Dolphin House is probably the best known dive site near Marsa Alam. It is a horseshoe-shaped reef which protection creates a very nice and shallow turquoise lagoon. Liveaboards often spend the night here on their way south or on their return. It is famous obviously for its amount of very friendly dolphins, with which you can snorkel here. As they are very used to snorkelers it is not allowed to dive with them, although it is possible to meet them during one of your dives.

Dives are often done near the pinnacles in the south-west, which are shallow and easily navigated. For a nice drift dive it is better to go to the outer reef, where a nice wall descends gradually to 20 meters from where it disappears. The cave system is very nice as well. Pay attention however as it is easy to loose your sense of direction.

A horseshoe shaped reef creates a shallow turquoise water lagoon where a large herd of spinner dolphins live permanently. Several dives are found on its outer walls. The western tip provides a large group of pinnacles rising to the surface from a carpet of sea grass, populated by schools of reef fish.
