South of Siyul Island is an isolated oval shaped reef named Blind Reef or Shabrour Siyul. It is also known as Blind Reef because the reef is completely out of sight below the surface and the area is a very busy one with dive boats. Take care before surfacing. The reef runs from east to west with winds and currents often coming from the north. Dive boats often moor at the sheltered south side and transport divers to the north with small motorboats. From there it is easy to make a very nice drift dive across nice walls, coral bommies and shallow caves with sleeping sharks. Turtles, glassfish, triggerfish and angelfish are present in the caves and overhangs. Tuna, jacks, but also soft corals, black corals, seawhips and fire coral can be found at the north western plateau as well.
