Shark Observatory or Ras Mohammed Wall is located at the foot of the observatory cliff in the north. Sharks used to be seen from the cliff in huge numbers but with the increase of tourism they have moved to quieter areas. There are two entry points from shore but be careful as there is no shore exit point once after the cliff. The wall is steep and descents to more than 90 meters with some nice overhangs and caves in it.
Because of its steep profile you won't be blown away by the amount of smaller reef fish. They are not absent of course as you probably see wrasses, groupers, turtles and snappers. Coral growth is excellent with many species of soft and hard corals. If you are lucky you might spot whale sharks in this area. Pelagic such as jacks, trevallies, barracudas and several types of sharks often hang around in the current waiting for an easy prey. This dive site is stunning in its own way with many species of pelagic and a fantastic steep wall.
