One of the best known and best reachable reefs near Dahab. It is used by many dive schools for students doing their skills and making their first steps in the underwater world. Dives can be shallow across white sandy areas but also quite deep with coral pinnacles popping up from all directions and rising to the surface. It is a large dive site where dive plans continue to change and where it is not possible to stick to the plan all the time. Diving is often started from the busy beach near the Lighthouse, not only used by divers. From there you swim north across a sloping reef, where a fantastic reef emerges. There you will find a huge wall on your left, coral pinnacles and boulders across sandy areas on your right.

Aquatic life is varied with turtles, dolphins, many reef fish and some pelagic action. Seahorses, crocodilefish, pipefish, surgeons and octopuses are just a few of the species that are regularly sited here. Coral formations are great as well, especially in the better northern section, with types of gorgonian and urchins. It is a great dive site, but tourism has made this site one to be careful. For surfers who use this area for windsurfing and for local Bedouins children who sometimes throw rocks at you, just to annoy you and to entertain them selves. It is also a good idea to store your stuff carefully and don't leave anything unattended, because it is gone afterwards. Enjoy your dive here because it is great despite the big crowds.
