North in the straits of Gubal lies one of the most interesting wrecks in the area. The Rosalie Moller with a length of 108 meters was originally built in Glasgow under the name of Francis in the year 1910. She was sold to the Moller Line in 1931 when she got her final name. She was a coal ship which was bombed by German fighter jets in October 1941, when she was bringing coal to Alexandria. Now she rests in waters not often visited and is one of the best remained shipwrecks in Egypt.

This wreck is still fully intact with large areas of hard and soft coral overgrowing it. She sits upright with her bow in 39 meters and her keel lies at 50 meters deep. The forward mast rises all the way to 17 meters and this including its masthead lamp is the first thing you will see of the wreck. There are many holes in the wreck so penetration of the wreck is possible while not necessary. Some interesting parts to explore are its massive propeller, pots and pans in the galley and a magnificent copper steam-whistle.

It is a dive for more experienced divers as visibility can be low, currents can be very strong and she lies in deep waters. It is rarely dived because of the location and the necessity of technical diving equipment. The wreck is surrounded with thousands of glassfish and some predators such as reefsharks, jacks, groupers and tuna.
