Name divesite: Shag Rock, Kingston or Sarah H
Depth: 8-25m (26-82ft)
Visibility: 10-30m (32-98ft)
Accessibility: Live-aboard
Time to visit: All year around with warmest water in summer (apr-aug)
Specifications: Be prepared to handle the current, plan this dive well. Diving at an interesting shipwreck. Diving next to a huge vertical wall of coral. The current and waves make this a divesite with a heavy surge. The strong current makes this a perfect drift dive. This dive site is also perfect for snorkeling.

The Kingston Wreck is located at the east side on the reef system known as Shag Rock. She is also often referred to as the Sarah H named after dive guide Sarah Hillel during the 90s when they had problems identifying the wreck.

She is a twin mast steamship of 80 meters of length which sank in February 1881 and is still quite intact. She lies perpendicular to the current which provides for a great shelter and gives you time enough to explore the wreck. The mast and funnel have been long gone, but many other interesting life and parts of the ship can still be explored.

Nicely colored coral at ShagRockShag Rock is an egg-shaped reef reachable by boat from Sharm-el Sheik but more often done on safari and live-aboard cruises. There are actually two of those reefs very close together and because of the absence of a name for the northern reef Shag Rock is often referred to for both of them. Its name comes from the numerous cormorants or shags which were visible on an old light frame. On occasions those birds can still be seen sitting on top of parts of the reef. The best diving can be done at the southern of the two at its east side where you will see many pelagic, soft and hard corals. There are sea cucumbers, sweetlips and many butterflyfish. It is a regular reef where you can make some easy dives. There is a wreck named the Kingston in the east and another named the Carina in the north.
