Ras Mohammed, declared a National Park in 1983, lies on the southern most tip of the Sinai and it is one of the best kept National Parks in Egypt. The sea near Sharm El Sheik is full of nutricients and therefore attracts a large amount of big fish. Steep walls covered in coral, going down to depth of 1000 meter, is the nature of diving in Ras Mohammed. With a touristy city such as Sharm El Sheik, diving possibilities are unlimited and trips to the best dive sites can easily be arranged.

The water temperature is nice at 20 degrees in winter (February) to 27 degrees in summer (early October). The Egyptian Climate is hot and dry, ranging from 40 degrees in summer to 20 in winter. Diving Sharm el Sheik can be done year around, with visibilities between 10 and 50 meters, depending on the place you visit and the wind conditions.

Unique in the area, Sharks Bay Umbi Diving Village is a friendly, relaxing place that still maintains the feel of how Sharm used to be before the arrival of large scale tourism.

The Diving Village has a well-equipped dive centre, its own private jetty and a fleet of five boats. There is also a seafood restaurant, beach bar and a full range of water sports. The accommodation ranges from budget View Huts and Beach Cabins to the individually styled Bedouin Village. These rooms are built into the cliffside – all have sea views and most have balconies. Our private “walk-in” beach and beautiful house-reef is excellent for divers, snorkellers and swimmers alike.
