Ras Ghamila is probably the dive site that is furthest away from Sharm el-Sheikh. It is located next to Gordon Reef near a green beacon used by ships that indicates the end of the Straits of Tiran. This reef is famous for its abundance of marine life and coral formations. The dive is often done as a drift dive starting near the Conrad Resort and then diving north across a sandy plateau with the reef next to you. Hard coral formations are excellent because of the current conditions of the water. Small fish such as triggerfish and many type of pelagic, but also some of the bigger fish can be seen here including manta rays and whale sharks.
