Een van de leuke eigenschappen van Ras Abu Galum is dat je er vaak duikt in combinatie met een kameelsafari.

Ras Abu Galum ligt ongeveer 8 km ten noorden van de Blue Hole. Je gaat met je duikspullen op een kameel langs de kust over een smal rotspad. Je kunt ook te voet gaan met alleen de duikspullen op de kameel. Na ongeveer anderhalf uur kom je aan bij Ras Abu Galum. Deze duikplaats wordt meestal als dagtrip gedaan, waarbij je tussen de duiken door in een van de restaurantjes kunt genieten van een heerlijke bedoeïenen maaltijd met (uiteraard) vers gevangen vis en iets te drinken.
Bij de duik in zuidelijke richting duik je langs een koraalwand met grote scholen vis en prachtig koraal, waaronder het unieke Rode Zee Zwart Koraal. De duiken in noordelijke richting voeren je langs hellingen vol begroeid met koraaltafels, harde en zachte koralen. Schildpadden en grotere vis zijn hier geen zeldzaamheid, dus kijk regelmatig richting open zee.
Doordat dit een duikplek is waar niet massaal gedoken wordt, is veel van het koraal nog onaangetast en kun je in alle rust genieten van het onderwaterleven. Ras Abu Galum is ook een uitstekende locatie voor techduikers, met een spectaculair landschap op grotere diepte.
