Ras Umm Sid is famous for its beautiful well formed table coral. Diving at Umm Sid starts by entering a wide corridor carved into a steep reef. From there you can best go left, because the right side is only attractive for the occasional gorgonian fans. Some very large ones can be found in depth of 30 meter.
Located somewhat more to the south out of reach of the big crowds, makes this dive site one of the best in the Dahab region. The current tends to be a bit stronger than in other places, which attracts big fish. You will also see smaller species such as the common lion fish, unicorns, anemones and pufferfish. This is a beautiful dive where you have to take the time to see it all.
